Battery

Flash is powered by a 3 Volt CR2032 coin cell battery (included). Only replace the battery in the Flash with a CR2032 battery type. It lasts about 4 to 6 months with normal use.

When you see the low battery indicator on the upper left hand corner after you sync Flash to the app, you have less than one week to replace the battery. We recommend using the same brand (or one with equivalent quality), which should give you the estimated battery life.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Remove the battery door from the Flash.

2. Remove the used battery and properly dispose of the used battery. [Refer to section “Battery Disposal and Recycling”]

3. Place a new CR2032 battery into the Flash, so that the negative (-) faces down into the Flash and the positive (+) faces outwards. The positive (+) face of the battery should be visible when placed into the Flash.

4. Replace the battery door into the Flash.

LINKING FLASH FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. SIGNING UP WITH THE APP

Download the Misfit App from the App Store or Google Play and install the Misfit App on your device.

Open the app and follow the instructions on screen to create an account for new users or log in if you already have one. You will be asked to input information about yourself so we can provide you with the best experience and most accurate data. This information is confidential. Refer to our Privacy Policy in ‘Settings’ in the app for more information.

2. LINKING YOUR FLASH FOR THE FIRST TIME

After you set your goal, you will be prompted to link Flash for the first time. In the app, initiate the linking process and press Flash’s button to allow the device to search for the Flash’s Bluetooth signal. The LED lights on the Flash should light up.

Water resistance

Flash is water resistant up to 3atm (30 meters). Suitable for dishwashing and splashing in shallow waters, not snorkeling or diving.


To maintain water resistance:

• Install the back cover correctly

• Do not tamper with the back cover when it is still submerged in liquid

• Avoid prolonged exposure to salt water or other chemicals, e.g. detergent, chlorine

• Avoid moving Shine in and out of contrasting extreme atmospheres; saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and hot showers could distort the sealing gasket

• Avoid opening the back cover unnecessarily

• When opening the back cover to replace the battery, avoid touching the gasket

• Never leave Shine open for more than a few hours; a dry gasket will cause the seal to fail

HOW TO USE THE SPORT BAND & CLASP

BEST WEARING POSITIONS PER ACTIVITY

To get the most accurate data, wear your Flash in the following positions when you intend to track the following types of activities.


Walking/Running: Wear your choice of accessory anywhere, get creative!

Cycling: Wear it on your foot or ankle using the Clasp.

Sleep: Wear Flash on your wrist while you are sleeping for the most accurate data.

Other activities: Wear it on the part of your body that is moving the most. Here are some options...

MEMORY

Flash holds up to 30 days of your activity data. Sync Flash regularly to ensure the most detailed data has been downloaded onto the app. Flash begins recording data for each day at midnight, when its display resets. Information from the previous day is stored in it’s memory and will be transferred to the app at the next sync.

WHAT ARE POINTS?

Points are a way to measure physical activity, both from steps and other activities. For example, if you walk for 10 minutes, you can earn about 100 points, depending on your pace. If you run for 10 minutes, you can earn closer to 3-5 times that amount, depending on the intensity of your running. The more active you are, the more points you receive. It’s that simple.

CALORIES

Flash displays your total calories burned, which includes: 1. Calories related to your physical activities like walking, running etc. 2. The basal metabolic rate (BMR) of energy needed just to keep your body alive. Even if you have not performed a lot of activity in a day, you will still burn calories related to your BMR, which can be a surprisingly large number - more than 1,500 calories for many users. Flash’s calorie estimate is based on the most updated medical research on energy expenditure.

SLEEP

If you wear Flash to sleep, it can automatically track: - When you fell asleep - Duration of sleep - Duration of light and restful sleep - When you woke up

The front face of Flash is a button. Press the Flash button to see progress towards your daily goal or the time.

TAGGING ACTIVITIES

You can also track other activities (not walking or running).


The custom activity tag can be set in the app, found under the option “Devices > Tagging and sleep”. Tags can be set for: Cycling Soccer Tennis Basketball
Sync your Flash after changing the activity tag in the app. Press and hold the Flash button when you begin your activity. The lights on the Flash will spin around to let you know you are in the activity tagging mode. At the end of your activity, press and hold the Flash button.
